New Delhi, Dec 31: National Joint Council of Action (NJCA), which is spearheading the campaign of aggrieved Central Government employees, has demanded the Committee of Allowances to take swift action in relation to the 7th Pay Commission. NJCA convenor Shiv Gopal Mishra expressed anguish over the delay caused in the implementation of allowances for the Central Govt employees. In a hard hitting letter to Finance Secretary Ashok Lavasa, Mishra claimed that the alleged inaction adopted by the Government has caused mental agony to the Central Government employees.
Mishra pointed that nearly four months have passed since the meeting was held with Committee of Allowances to discuss the anomalies. He further added that no positive response has been shown so far. “Almost four months have passed without any outcome. All the Central Government Employees’ are quite agitated as well as are having mental agony because allowances of the VII CPC, have not been implemented,” Mishra said in the letter published by National Council (staff side).
“The Staff Side is of firm opinion that, there should be resolution to the demands, and these Allowances should be implemented with effect from 01.01.2016, i.e. the date from which VII CPC has been implemented,” Mishra further added.
The National Council (Staff Side) had submitted a memorandum of demands to the Committee of Allowances on September 16. However, no progress has been made so far. According to reports, there is a possibility that the allowances would be rolled out for Central Government employees after the announcement of Union Budget 2017.
